infectious

Gardening has become infections to us. We continually want to learn new things and try to grow new things. The desire is growing and speading between us.
Now that the garden is in full production mode for 2009, I am making it my personal challenge over the next few weeks to try and cook something everyday from it’s products.
Which should be fairly easy to do.

as you can see this garden is growing fast.

Zucchini is out of control again this year and producing about 3-5 per day. Way more than we can ever eat.

I took this picture about a week or so ago. This was the first red tomato hiding among the branches of 18 tomato plants. But since then, we have gotten a few more and they are delicious. I have planned spaghetti sauce, salsa, canned tomatoes… and whatever else comes to mind with so many tomatoes.

This bowl right here is going to be bread and butter pickles. This is my favorite type of pickles.

Here is the product of my labor. They will be ready in about a month. They have to absorb the sweet juice.

Here is close up. I can not wait to eat those.
I also made this:

It is a combination of two dishes and anything I had in the garden that could go into it. It is basically veggies and rigatoni pasta with a little lemon juice and mozzarella. It would be really nice served cold with a bit of italian dressing.
I will save that combination for tomorrow during lunch.

your garden looks great despite the tough Texas conditions! Jay just built me a raised garden frame and plans on building 3 more. We just might get our hands dirty soon:) BTW, you need to come to the MHS alumni match August 15th. you can stay with me for the weekend-fly southwest:)
