It started going down hill very quickly…

I was having such a good morning, with making the cinnamon rolls and everything. Then I had this crazy idea about going to the grocery store for milk. (not unusual for me since we drink about a gallon of milk per day and at almost $5 per gallon, well you do the math) So you can imagine how excited I was to see alberston’s running a Good Friday special “Albertsons 2% milk one gallon, $2 per gallon” (I also read all of the fine print) So, I quickly grabbed the last 4 gallons they had. I got the rest of my items and proceeded to check out.

Here is where it started going down hill.

Milk rings up at $4.29/gallon (not $2 I was expecting)

Checker calls for price check because she does not know about the special. Clerk comes back and says it was the1/2 gallon that was on sale.

I say, “I don’t think so” I then proceeded to walk all the way to the back of the store to double check the price with him. (it is worth it to me to get $2 per gallon on milk for the above reasons)

Sign says” Albertson’s 2% Milk $2 per gallon, regular price $4.29 savings of $2.29

Clerk “See the sign says it is for the 1/2 gallon not the gallon” (he is pointing to the 2% part.)

At this moment I really wanted to scream, cuss and call the clerk a moron, but instead I said “are you kidding me?”

Then it dawned on me, this clerk can not read. He is late teens to low twenties and he can’t even read the sign. or he can read a little of it.

So instead of saying why don’t you learn how to read, I just lowered my voice and said, “no, that is not what that says..” I read the entire sign to him.

He said the sign was confusing to him. apparently.

It is a sad day.

On another note, it’s Friday night and another child is sick with the flu and a fever of 102. Why do they always wait until Friday night to get sick. Why can’t they get sick on Monday when the doctors office is open?

I think I will talk with them about this, getting sick on Friday is not good for me.
